Organization Overview
GoRockford is the official destination marketing and management organization for the Rockford region of northern Illinois. Since 1984, GoRockford has worked to grow the region's visitor economy by attracting leisure travelers, meetings, conventions, sporting events and group business while promoting the area's attractions, hospitality businesses and unique experiences.
Working in partnership with hotels, restaurants, attractions, local governments and community stakeholders, GoRockford leads destination marketing, tourism sales and development initiatives that generate visitor spending, support jobs and strengthen the regional economy. In 2025, visitors spent nearly $550 million in Winnebago County, demonstrating tourism's significant contribution to the community.
Guided by its Thrive 2035 Destination Master Plan, GoRockford is committed to strengthening the Rockford region as a competitive visitor destination through strategic investment, collaboration and advocacy. The organization also works to advance policies and initiatives that support the lodging industry, increase overnight visitation and create long-term economic opportunities for the region.
