Illinois Hotel & Lodging Association Educational Foundation (IHLAEF)
The Illinois Hotel & Lodging Association Educational Foundation (IHLAEF) is the not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) educational arm of IHLA. Incorporated in 1992, IHLAEF has awarded over $650,000 in financial assistance to college students pursuing careers in hospitality while providing educational and workforce development opportunities to employees of IHLA member hotels.
Scholarships
Each summer, IHLAEF awards academic scholarships to deserving Illinois college students pursuing hospitality degrees throughout the country. Scholarships are made possible by the support of IHLA members and range from $1,000 to $5,000 per academic year.
Educational Programming
IHLAEF provides continuing education for current hospitality industry professionals through seminars and webinars on timely trends and issues. The Foundation hosts relevant programs throughout the year to enhance hotel professionals’ performance, both personally and operationally.
Career & Workforce Development
IHLAEF works closely with the American Hotel & Lodging Association Educational Institute (AHLEI) as the preferred resource for high school to career curriculum, industry certifications, and other training materials.
